Batik for Beginners & Improvers

A one day course suitable for beginners or those who have had some experience of batik or dyeing before. You will learn how to use authentic cantings and copper stamps from Java, different ways of applying wax, how to make up and mix procion dyes for dip dyeing and painting, and how to finish off your work. Plenty of time too to experiment and practise with various techniques.
Course fee: £30.00

Indigo Resist Dyeing

Shibori, bandhani, plangi, adire, tritik - names which are used all over the world for the amazing art of resist dyeing. On this one day course you will learn at least nine different ways of making a resist using tying, stitching, clamping and wax. You will then learn how to make an indigo dye to dye your pieces. Later you can dye bigger pieces such as garments, even curtains or yarns.
Course fee: £30.00

Weekend Course

A great opportunity to spend the weekend developing your batik techniques. We'll be learning how to use Javanese cantings and copper stamps as well as all sorts of other ways of making designs. You could be a complete beginner or have already done some batik. A weekend away from it all to enjoy being creative!
Course fee: £60.00
