This hand made silk ikat fabric comes from Afghanistan and is made by people of Uzbeck origin. The width of the fabric is 37 cms (15 inches)
It is made entirely by hand in the old fashioned way, by tying the weft threads off with a resistant thread and then dyeing it before weaving with a plain warp. The design is traditional to Central Asia. Price per metre.
