Procion cold water dyes are ideal for batik. A little of this dye powder goes a very long way. They can be used as dip dyes or painted on, and the colours can all be mixed to give a very wide range of colours.

Soda ash is also available for fixing the dyes. This is important if you intend to batik onto fabrics which will be washed but it is not necessary for batik on paper. Full instructions are included.
