Fine batik silk scarf in beautiful blues

This scarf was made at the Brahma Tirta Sari studio, in Jogyakarta, Java. The studio was founded and is run by Nia Fliamm and her husband Agus Ismoyo.

Nia is an American batik artist and Agus comes from a family of traditional cap batik craftsmen. Together they make wonderfully innovative batik art which is shown and exhibited in many galleries and museums around the world.

The intricate and extremely fine batik is made by multiple layering of wax and dyes.
